History of the Statue of Unity

Idea & Vision

The idea of building a grand statue was announced by Narendra Modi in 2010, when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. The aim was to:

Designed by award-winning sculptor Ram V. Sutar, the statue was created using bronze, steel, and reinforced concrete.
